HOW TO WRITE ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAYS

PRELIMINARY STAGE:
1. Brain Storming
2. Extract 5 top strong points from your brain storming to persuade the reader to see from your perspective
3. Identify nature of your topic: two conflicting points of view or very different conclusion
4. Reasoning & evidence for each five points ( at least 2 reasons or give evidence from some authentic source)
5. Present argument- to support your belief as reasonable & logical

DRAFT STAGE:
1. Make a mental list of points to use them as for or against an issue.
2. Make a list of points for both sides of the argument & pick a side
3. Make outline

WRITING STAGE:
1. introduce your topic and assert your side
2. Present Thesis statement
3. Background information
4. Evidence stage( use a mix of evidence types from statistics, to other studies and anecdotal stories)
5. summarize your points in one paragraph
6. critical appreciation(entirely based on your stance)

PRECAUTIONS:
1. Make sure your conclusion will be based on one side(your side and perspective)
2. Avoid emotional language
3. draw a logical conclusion
4. Don't make up evidence to deceive readers
